Google Apps measures its uptime (The % of time that its services are available) as 99.984% and is aiming for 99.99%. It has been shown to be far more relaible than other email solutions. Additionaly, Google does not exclude planned maintenance from these figures unlike other vendors. As of 2011 all maintenance is considered downtime, planned or otherwise.
